organisations > "Sorry, I don't speak binary" - communicating technical messages with flair.

why consider this training?Sorry, I don't speak binary

Communicating technical information and ideas is one of the hardest skills to master, particularly when today’s audiences expect to be engaged as well as entertained.
Top-notch communication skills can dramatically improve the performance of your teams. It’s all about actively promoting your ideas, your services and your organisation as trustworthy and credible. Can you answer yes to any of these questions:

Do I have complicated or technical messages that I need to communicate clearly?
Will communicating this well benefit me, my colleagues and my clients?
If we were better at communicating would the chance of our success be greater?

If so, your team will find this programme incredibly valuable.

who is it for?

Anyone involved in technical roles, for example: in IT or engineering, who needs to be able to effectively give presentations or communicate ideas face-to-face with internal and external audiences. This includes communicating with teams of different abilities and technical knowledge and presenting complex information to non-technical clients or external parties.

We’ve designed the programme to be suitable for entire teams, managers, technical or non-technical staff and can target the delivery specifically at the right level of experience and confidence for any group.

how it works

Face-to-face communication is seen as a highly effective way of building winning relationships but this can be tough in a technical environment. This programme is tailored specifically to give your teams the most relevant, real-world communication skills and tools to be effective:

Improved team and client-facing communication skills
Higher levels of confidence regarding communications
Real-world communication tools and actions to take forward and put into practice
Long-term: better project team performance & customer satisfaction

3-day public communications programme – this focuses on developing presenting and public speaking skills such as how to use voice and body language, how to ‘work a room’, how to use technology and visual aids to communicate effectively and how to avoid "Death by Powerpoint."

2-day team communications programme – this focuses on practical ways to ensure effective team communications underpin your results. Sessions include: mapping your team’s strengths, weaknesses, styles and seeing how you fit together to make your communication more effective, developing better tangible listening skills, understanding and using your teams’ values to improve communication and giving and receiving feedback on your real life communication skills.

The programmes have been created in a way that allows us to mix and match certain elements if this approach doesn’t quite fit your needs. Just get in touch to talk through how we can help your team specifically.

All programmes can be delivered onsite to minimise disruption to your activities or we can arrange for external facilities to remove all day-job distractions.

plenty of practice

At Ginger, we painfully remember boring school lessons and college lectures and we’ve certainly had to endure too many uninspiring presentations. Our approach is very different. We keep front-of-the-room lectures down to the minimum necessary to get across the key learning points. We then focus on providing interactive exercises and expert feedback tailored to each individual.

If it meets your needs, we can also use video and play-back of presentations.

what you'll get

Each individual will receive their own Communication Toolkit, showing them how to instil confidence, build rapport and motivate action in their communications. They will also leave with a pack of feedback notes gathered for them over the duration of the programme. This helps to concrete learning over time and allows participants to reflect on their communication skills performance in private.

optional extras

We also provide various follow-up optional extras, including:
In-depth report on the performance of each individual's communication skills
On-going 1-2-1 communication skills coaching for key individuals
Yearly refresher days to keep communication skills up-to-date

To book, to discuss further tailoring of the programme or any of the optional extras, please get in touch.
